A drug abuse awareness programme was organized by Government Degree College Marh in collaboration with Pamposh Balwadi School Marh at Village Panchayat Dhateryal under the ongoing 100-day of Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir campaign. A skit on the theme drug abuse and its impact on the society was presented by the students of the school. The programme was organized by the College Well-Being and Anti-Substance Cell in collaboration with the Department of Sociology under the able guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college.

A Door-to-Door Campaign for Substance Abuse Awareness in the village Dhatreyal and Awareness session in the college was conducted by the students and staff of GDC Marh under the 100 Days Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign on 14-05-2026. The programme was organised by the College Well-Being and Anti-Substance Abuse Cell in collaboration with the Department of Sociology under the guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college. The programme was concluded with a pledge ceremony against substance abuse.

Government Degree College Marh carried out a wall painting programme at Panchayat Ghar Dhateryal as a part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan awareness campaign on 13-05-2026. The programme was organised by the College Wellbeing and Anti-Substance Cell in collaboration with the Department of Sociology of the college.
The activity was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among the public about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to encourage a drug-free lifestyle.
A powerful Nukkad Natak on the theme “Drug-Free Society”
A powerful Nukkad Natak on the theme “Drug-Free Society” was showcased at Government Degree College Marh in collaboration with Pamposh Balwadi School Marh on 12-05.
The programme was organised under the supervision of Prof. Ramneek Kaur by the College Wellbeing and Anti-Substance Cell and the Department of Sociology of the college.
A total of 23 students from Pamposh Balwadi School Marh enthusiastically presented the nukkad natak, spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the need to build a healthy, addiction-free society. Through impactful dialogues and energetic performances, the students effectively conveyed a strong social message against substance abuse.
The audience included students and staff members of Government Degree College Marh and Government Middle School Dhateryal, who appreciated the efforts and performances of the young participants. The programme served as an important initiative to encourage awareness and collective responsibility towards creating a drug-free society

Government Degree College Marh organized an awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to promote a drug-free society on 11-05-2026. As a part of the initiative, an informative video highlighting the harmful effects of substance abuse was screened for students. A pledge ceremony against substance abuse was also conducted during the Semester-End Examination of Semester IV to spread awareness about the dangers of drug addiction.
The programme was organized by College Wellbeing and Anti-Substance Cell, in collaboration with the Department of Sociology, under the guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the College. The programme witnessed active participation from students and staff members, reflecting their commitment towards creating a healthy, aware, and drug-free environment.
Five Days Workshop on Early Warning Signs of Substance Abuse Concluded at GDC Marh.
A five-day workshop on the theme “Early Warning Signs of Substance Abuse” concluded successfully at Government Degree College Marh. The workshop aimed to create awareness among students regarding the early warning signs of substance abuse and to promote preventive measures, timely intervention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
During the workshop, various sessions and activities including awareness drives, essay writing competition, pledge ceremony, and interactive discussions were organised to educate students about the behavioural and psychological indicators of substance abuse and its adverse effects. The programme encouraged students to stay away from drugs and actively contribute towards building a drug-free society.
The programme concluded with a Parent-Teacher Meet on the early warning signs of drug addiction, which witnessed the participation of more than 20 parents along with faculty members. The session highlighted the importance of parental guidance, early identification of behavioural changes, and collective responsibility in preventing substance abuse among students. The programme was organised by the College Wellbeing and Anti-Substance Abuse Cell in collaboration with the Department of Education and the Students’ Wellness Committee under the guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college.
Awareness Drive on Drug Abuse Held at GDC Marh under Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign.
GDC Marh organized a series of awareness sessions as part of the ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign, aimed at educating students about the dangers of drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society.
Experts from the Health Department, Dr. R. P. Singh and Dr. Shrikant Sharma, addressed the students and elaborated on the severe health implications associated with substance abuse. They emphasized the importance of informed choices and preventive measures in safeguarding youth from addiction.
Sub-Inspector Parveen Singh from Police Station Domana apprised the students of the role of the police in combating drug-related issues and maintaining law and order. He also encouraged students to actively contribute to building a safer and healthier society.
The sessions were attended by NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, and a large number of students, reflecting enthusiastic participation and keen interest in the cause. On the occasion, a Nasha Mukt pledge was also administered to reinforce the commitment towards a drug-free society.The event was organized by the College Wellbeing and Anti-Substance Cell (CWASC) under the able guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college.
An awareness activity against substance abuse, featuring slogan writing and pledge-taking, was conducted at Government Degree College (GDC) Marh.
The event aimed to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to encourage students to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
A total of 20 students actively participated in the activity. A pledge was also administered in which all participants vowed to remain drug-free and to contribute towards spreading awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.
The activity was organized by Ms. Asha Kumari, Mr. Sachin Kumar Bhagat, and Mr. Ravi Kumar.

Workshop on Early Signs of Nasha (Drug Addiction) Started at GDC Marh
A five-day workshop on the early signs of drug addiction commenced at GDC Marh on 5th May 2026, as part of the ongoing 100-day Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign. The workshop aimed to raise awareness among students about the habits and behavioral patterns that distinguish a drug addict from others.
During the workshop, an interactive session was conducted in which students shared their knowledge and experiences regarding the behavior of individuals struggling with drug addiction. They emphasized the importance of spreading awareness among the masses, especially among illiterate individuals and daily wage workers, who may be more vulnerable to such habits due to depression and other socio-economic factors.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of the Principal of the college, Dr. Rammerk Kour. It was organized by the Department of Education , Prof. (Dr.) Ashu Jolly (HOD) and Dr. Samvedna Sharma.
Cancer Awareness Programme was organized at Government Degree College, Marh
A one-day Cancer Awareness Programme was organized at Government Degree College, Marh in collaboration with Diva International Foundation under the 100 Days of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The keynote speakers included Dr. Abdul Aziz Chowdhary (MBBS, MD), Senior Physician, Haematologist & Oncologist, who delivered an insightful address on cancer prevention, early diagnosis, and the established correlation between substance abuse—particularly tobacco and alcohol—and the incidence of various cancers. Dr. Surbhi Kudyar (MBBS, MS, MCH), Breast Oncologist and Consultant Surgical Oncologist, spoke on breast cancer awareness, the importance of timely screening, and the need to adopt a healthy and substance-free lifestyle.
Students, along with NSS, NCC, and Bharat Scouts and Guides, participated enthusiastically and actively contributed to awareness activities on cancer prevention and the ill effects of substance abuse. As part of the programme, all participants also took a pledge for a Nasha Mukt Bharat, committing themselves to stay away from drugs and to promote a drug-free society.
The initiative was undertaken by the NCORD team under the guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college.
Government Degree College Marh Organizes No Tobacco Campaign 3.0 Pledge.
GDC Marh organized a pledge ceremony under the No Tobacco Campaign 3.0, led by Prof. Malti Rajput, Convenor of the Prahari Club, under the guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kour, Principal of the college. The event aimed to spread awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco and inspire students and staff to adopt a tobacco-free lifestyle.
Participants took a pledge to never use tobacco products, to motivate their family and friends to avoid tobacco, and to contribute to protecting the environment from its adverse effects. They also vowed to help keep their campus and workplace tobacco-free and to encourage others to quit tobacco use.
The initiative reflects GDC Marh’s continued commitment to promoting health, awareness, and responsible citizenship. The other faculty members present in the event were Prof. Ashu Jolly and Prof. Sachin Kumar.
“Government Degree College Marh hosts awareness lecture on tobacco control and child helpline services under No Tobacco campaign 3.0”.
Under the “No Tobacco Campaign 3.0, Government Degree College Marh today organized an impactful awareness lecture focusing on tobacco control and the importance of the child helpline-1098.The programme was organized by Prahari club of the college in collaboration with Child protection unit district Jammu under the guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kour, Principal of the college. Mr. Sheraz Inayat Malik, Protection officer and Ms. Pinki Jain, coordinator, Child helpline Jammu were the resource persons. Mr. Malik highlighted the rising health concerns associated with tobacco use, especially among youth, and emphasized the legal measures in place under COTPA. Ms. Jain apprised the students about the child helpline (1098). Students were encouraged to spread awareness within their communities so that vulnerable children can access timely assistance. The programme concluded with an interactive session where the students and faculty raised questions and shared insights. The faculty members who participated in the session were Prof. Rahul Sharma, Dr. Balwinder Saini, Prof. Sachin kumar, Mr. Ravi Kumar. The program was coordinated by Prof. Malti Rajput, convener, Prahari club and vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Sheetal Devi.

Under the “No Tobacco Campaign 3.0, Government Degree College Marh screens an informative video highlighting the physical, psychological, and social consequences of tobacco consumption to the students. Prof. Malti Rajput, convener Prahari Club Nasha Mukt Bharat under the guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kour, Principal of the college. Prof. Malti sensitized the youth about the dangers associated with smoking and the use of other tobacco products, while encouraging them to become advocates for a tobacco-free society.
The programme concluded with an interactive discussion between the faculty members and students, reaffirming the college’s commitment to the national mission of eradicating tobacco use among youth. The faculty members who participated in the discussion were Dr. Balwinder Saini, Prof. Sachin kumar, Dr. Shakun Sharma and Prof. Surbhi Gupta.
